In the have-versus-have-not battleground of high school football, Hattiesburg (Miss.) Oak Grove has been running towards the group of those that do not go without.
The program won its first-ever state championship in 2013. It was nationally ranked in the HSFB100 at No. 97 for its accomplishments.
It was made famous when the world found out that its offensive coordinator was future NFL Hall of Famer, Brett Favre. The story was made all the better when it was revealed the Warriors won on a fake field goal and Favre equated the feeling to being close to the Super Bowl.
“I can’t say it’s like a Super Bowl, but it’s pretty close,” Favre said. “It really is. It’s a different type of feeling, but I couldn’t be more proud of these guys. It’s been a lot of fun.”
And now it has made a serious upgrade in appearances.
The program switched from Under Armour to Nike and with it came a full redesign.
An old spearhead helmet was replaced with a swept-back black and gold image.
It also scrapped the gold outline for a clean, black look.
Below is the new look, beyond that is the old version with Favre.

Oak Grove figures to start the season inside the Top 10 of Mississippi and is in consideration for Preseason HSFB100 rankings. There is not question that it will be among the best looking teams in the Magnolia State, regardless of how it plays.
There was no word whether Wrangler Jeans tried to influence Favre into pushing the program for an all-denim look.
