Pick ‘Em 2014 Registration

Welcome to NationalHSFootball.com Pick’em, a weekly game that lets you show your skill and smarts by picking the winner of this year’s regular season and playoff games.

All you have to do is enter your selections each week. You’ll get points for every correct pick you make — as well as the potential for a few bonus points — while we do all the hard work of gathering the results, and computing the point totals and standings.

To protect you and us, signing in can be multiple steps for some users but once you are logged into the system should never need repeated.

OVERVIEW/LOGGING IN

The first thing you should do is to open the Pick ‘Em Page by clicking here. It will open in a new window and from there you can follow the appropriate steps. This is also the page that Pick ‘Em will appear on each week so you will never need to search for results or games.

If you are logged into our database you will have the ability to make your picks for the first week.

You will know that you are logged in because your screen will be populated with Week 0 games to choose from. That screen will look like this:

Week0

If you are not logged into our database your screen will not have any games listed and it will include the text ‘You have to be a registered user and logged in to play in this pool.’ across the bottom.

You will need to click the red link that will prompt you to log in.

It will take you through TWO log in pages. While we understand this process may result in a poor user experience we value our security as well as yours.

The first page is a security log-in designed to prevent spamming and bots from entering the game. You will need to fill in the box as directed with the user name: kfw7zr and the password: 26.

It looks like this: SecurityLogin

The second page is a WordPress log in. It will ask you for a username and password. If you are already a member of our site or our message board, The Varsity Board, you should enter your username and password here. This page will look like this:

WordPressLogin

If you are new to our site you will need to click on the ‘Register’ link on that page and create a new account.

It will bring you to a page that has a second level of security for the creation of your username and password. It will look like this:

CreateAccount

At that point you will be successfully signed into our system and eligible to play Pick ‘em.

PLAYING THE GAME:

Playing is simple!

Use the toggle buttons to select the final scores of each game and hit save 15 minutes prior to the time listed for each game.

The system is automated this year and entries will close 15 minutes before the listed time. You may edit your picks an unlimited amount of times prior to the window closing.

Once the deadline has passed, NationalHSFootball.com can not edit the deadline.

It is not possible to edit your selections retroactively to account for a missed game or games, nor can the Commissioner make adjustments for individuals who miss the deadline. You will only be credited for the games you have picked.

SCORING

You will get one point for predicting the correct winner of the game. We call this a standard point.

In case you also predict the exact score, you get three extra points.

An additional scoring bonus is the point differential bonus: if you predict the correct winner, not the exact score, but you predicted the correct difference in points, you get the point differential bonus (e.g. you predicted 17-10 or 14-7 and result is 24-17).

Prediction Bonus 3
Point Differential 1

The most points that you can receive for getting a game exactly correct is four. The least you will get for a correct prediction is one.

If you choose to just select winners and losers without participating in the score bonus you simply need to make the final score 1-0.

Your score and standing will be automatically adjusted each week and will be displayed on the Pick ‘em Homepage.
