It is time to silence the chatter and put Allen (Texas) as the top team in its state and back into the thick of the HSFB100 National Title conversation.
The Eagles downed a quality Plano West (Texas) team this week to earn its ninth straight district title and extend its winning streak to 36 games by the final of 71-40.
The contest was the third time this season that the Allen opposition has scored over 40 points which provides ammunition to those trying to discredit the program.
A closer look at those results can tell a different tale.
Led by three-year starter at quarterback, Kyler Murray, the Eagles shined on offense all evening. The Texas A&M commit completed 20 of 29 passes for 422 yards and five touchdowns. He added another 89 yards rushing the ball on 12 carries.
Notre Dame-bound receiver Jaylen Guyton was the main target for the Eagles as he secured seven catches for 210 yards and two scores while Keon Williams rushed 10 times for 71 yards with David Feliciano contributing 60 yard on 8 carries as well.
It was standard issue for the teams as Murray has thrown for 2643 yards and completed 66 percent of his passes so far this season with a 29-to-4 touchdown versus interception ratio.
Guyton has caught 55 of those balls for 1223 yards and 14 scores while four other players have over 15 receptions.
The team was up 28-7 early in the game and 49-21 at halftime — which was when the game was essentially over. Allen gave up three touchdowns to spectacular runningback Soso Jamabo after the break and the Eagles simply kept pace with three touchdowns of its own closing out the game.
The victory was indicative of how Allen has played all season: get a big lead early and sit on it.
In the season opener against current No. 86 Guyer (Denton, TX) the Eagles raced to a 34-14 lead at halftime before coasting to the finish line of a 55-41 victory. The score would have more closely resembled the play on the field had it not been for a Guyer touchdown with three minutes to play to close the gap to a two-score game instead of a 21-point blowout.
The following week Allen defeated No. 40 Dutch Fork (Irmo, SC) by recovering an onside kick to close out a 58-53 game. It was another score that pushed people to over think the rankings as Allen was up 38-21 before taking its foot off the accelerator.
Between the first two games and this week versus Plano West the only team to have scored four touchdowns was Boyd (McKinney, TX) in a 58-28 contest. Again that game was 34-7 before Boyd made the defense look suspect scoring late.
As the playoffs approach it looks as though Allen will be the favorite for the Class 6A Division I title and potentially a HSFB100 National Championship.

RK (L) | TEAM CITY (ST) | RECORD | LAST WEEK
1 (1) | Bishop Gorman Las Vegas (NV) | 10-0 | def. Palo Verde, 49-0
Bishop Gorman continues to crush its Nevada opposition and ride its strength of schedule to the top spot in the HSFB100. This week the team downed Palo Verde — a game that would have been considered a quality win a few years back — to the tune of 49-0.
2 (2) | De La Salle Concord (CA) | 9-0 | def. Amador Valley, 56-0
The Spartans keep pace for the top spot by defeating its own inferior opponent by eight scores. De La Salle appears to have separated itself from the SoCal pack by being among the most complete teams in the country. It is win 257 in a row versus NorCal competition for De La Salle.
3 (3) | Colquitt County Moultrie (GA) | 9-0 | def. Tift, 69-14
Colquitt County is just rolling through teams in South Georgia and appears to be on a mission to claim a state title. It dominating win over Hoover underscores a solid resume that also boasts Mill Creek, Lowndes, Valdosta, and Lee country — four Top 25 teams in the state. The Packers have a playoff path that could add three more quality opponents could push this team into the discussion for a national title.
4 (5) | Allen (Texas) | 9-0 | def. Plano West, 70-41
As the opening article states the debate for the top team in Texas was silenced this week as Allen is that team. The team is simply too good on offense to ignore and its defense is better than the final scores would lead outsiders to believe. Kyler Murray is the best high school football quarterback in the country and he runs this offense to perfection being able to kill defenses with his feet and arm.
5 (4) | Manvel (Texas) | 9-0 | def. Pasadena Memorial, 70-0
It is hard to move a team that won 70-0 down inside the Top 10 but that was the fate that befell Manvel. The Mavericks are the Allen of the Greater Houston Area with a talented dual-threat quarterback, skilled receivers, and enough on defense to be a threat for a state and national titles. Its playoff path may be more difficult than Allen’s which will likely lead to a last week debate if both end unbeaten.
6 (6) | Paramus Catholic (New Jersey) | 8-0 | def. DePaul, 41-20
The Paladins have been able to avoid any negative impact of its subpar performance against St. Ignatius as the top team in New Jersey is still inside the Top 10. This week it beat the No. 6 team in the state soundly. Due to performance points in the state it will likely end up with the No. 2 seed in the playoffs which may make for a tougher path to the title — helping the strength of schedule in any final debates.
7 (10) | Starkville (Mississippi) | 9-0 | def. Warren Central, 28-17
Starkville gave up more points than it would have liked in beating a better-than-expected Warren Central team. There is a concern that the team peaked too early and may start sliding back down the rankings without improved performances. The Mississippi playoffs may be as deep as they have been in a number of years which will test this placement no matter what.
8 (11) | Booker T. Washington Miami (FL) | 10-0 | def. Edison, 38-0
Booker T. Washington continues to buoy around the Top 10 as this week it slides back into the mix with other teams dropping out. The Tornadoes will likely cruise to a state title without much of a test the rest of the way. Cocoa (FL) has been looking better and maybe they will be able to boost the strength of schedule for Booker T. Washington as the season winds to a close.
9 (7) | Dallas Skyline (Texas) | 9-0 | def. Turner, 56-21
Skyline was the fringe beneficiary of Cedar Hill rolling through DeSoto last week but was minor collateral damage this week when the Longhorns lost a stunner to Mansfield. Skyline continues to down teams within its district with respectable but uninspiring finals. It bettered Turner this week, 56-21.
10 (15) | St. John Bosco Bellflower (CA) | 8-1 | def. Servite, 49-26
St. John Bosco had another hard fought victory against a quality Servite team. The combination of Josh Rosen and Sean McGrew makes this team a legit threat to represent the SoCal region in the CIF Open Bowl again while the offensive line is starting to play much better. The defense is still worrisome but like Allen the Braves may just have too much firepower.
11 (13) | Clay-Chalkville Pinson (AL) | 10-0 | def. Hewitt-Trussville, 59-28
Clay-Chalkville came back to life in blowing out an inspired Hewitt-Trussville team. The Cougars are still battling perception that Hoover is the best team in the state of Alabama but the team has made a very strong case with how it has played this season. The Class 6A playoffs are loaded with teams that will boost the strength of schedule and test the mettle of the program.
12 (14) | Folsom (California) | 9-0 | def. Oak Ridge, 42-7
It can be argued that Folsom is the No. 2 team in California but with the slate of games that St. John Bosco has played it still gets that nod. The Bulldogs have improved the schedule and it may be better for it come playoffs time. Folsom figures to pair with Grant in the Division I Regional Bowl and then add a SoCal opponent in the DI Bowl. It could finish in the Top 10 this season. Beating Oak Ridge did not change evaluation points from what was previously known.
13 (12) | Mainland Daytona Beach (FL) | 9-0 | def. Seabreeze, 26-9
Mainland stays inside the Top 15 as its defense did not allow a touchdown for the sixth time this season. The Buccaneers wrapped up a district title and will close its regular season this coming week with Fort Pierce Central. Playoffs will separate the teams in a tough Class 6A .
14 (16) | Miami Central (Florida) | 9-1 | def. Jackson, 45-0
A week after a so-so performance versus Carol City the Rockets got back to punishing opponents as it beat Jackson like a drum. Like Mainland there will be plenty of tests for this team in the 6A playoffs.
15 (18) | Bingham South Jordan (UT) | 10-1 | def. Weber, 30-0
The Miners continue to push through the Utah playoffs with a shutout this week. Baring a total meltdown this team will win a state title and finish inside the Top 25 nationally.
16 (21) | Rummel Metarie (LA) | 10-0 | def. Holy Cross, 31-7
Rummel got a much-needed easy victory this week as it has been in several battles this year. The trend of tough tests will continue this coming week when the Raiders will take on a Brother Martin team that found itself on the fringe of the HSFB100 rankings. Both teams are talented and experienced and a close score would not surprise.
17 (23) | Southlake Carroll (Texas) | 9-0 | def. Haltom, 62-0
Southlake Carrol has plenty of momentum heading into the playoffs and it could be a threat to rise to the top of Texas — a place it used to call home. The blowout over Haltom was checking-the-box but the team keeps sliding up as its completeness is showing out.
18 (19) | Chandler (Arizona) | 9-1 | def. Highland, 49-21
While the rest of the Arizona teams took a step backwards it was the Wolves that gained a little ground with its ranking. The team figures to prove it is the best in the state through the playoff run.
19 (26) | JSerra San Juan Capistrano (CA) | 8-1 | def. Orange Lutheran, 24-20
STOCK UP: JSerra did not let the bright lights of the rankings blind it as it keeps grinding out victories. The Lions will play a Servite team that needs a win to even have a chance at the playoffs. JSerra has clinched its first Pac5 playoffs berth but is playing for seeding so it does not figure to fall asleep in this game.
20 (27) | Bellevue (Washington) | 9-0 | def. Lake Washington, 47-0
It was time to move Bellevue back into the Top 25 as a season long of fundamentals and consistent play was being overlooked as the Wolverines slid down the rankings. The best etam in Washington has a lot of depth and some young stars leading the way.
21 (28) | Euless Trinity (Texas) | 9-1 | def. Richland, 55-17
Another nod to grinding out wins and playing defense as traditional powerhouse Euless Trinity moves into the Top 25 for the first time this season. Blowing out Richland had very little to do with the movement as much as the team rounding into form prior to the playoffs. There are teams with more sizle but maybe not as much substance.
22 (20) | St. Peter’s Prep Jersey City (NJ) | 7-1 | def. North Bergen, 69-7
St. Peter’s has won the last two games by a combined 131-7 and remain in the Top 25 as the playoffs are getting set to start. The Marauders will take on an Eastern Chritian program that is on fumes as the season grinds to an end.
23 (24) | Union Tulsa (OK) | 8-1 | def. Mustang, 30-24
This was a tougher test than expected with a quality Mustang team. Union should win another state title this year as the rest of Oklahoma does not have the look of a group that will rise up to knock off the Redskins.
24 (17) | St. Thomas Aquinas Ft. Lauderdale (FL) | 8-1 | def. Plantation, 51-0
The Raiders continue to beat district foes and other inferior competition as it closes out the regular season. This group has the talent to win a state title but it will be interesting to see if it can flip the switch back on after a month of competition that provdes very little in the way of a challenge.
25 (22) | Flanagan Pembroke Pines (FL) | 9-0 | def. Western, 40-6
Flanagan clinched a district title and a better first round opponent in the Class 8A playoffs with the blowout. It is hard to know what to make of the win as it was checking the box so the Falcons were a victim of being jumped by a ahdnful of teams.
26 (25) | Buford (Georgia) | 9-0 | def. Madison County, 44-0
27 (37) | Hoover (Alabama) | 8-2 | def. No. 38 Blackman, 35-20
28 (32) | Katy (Texas) | 8-1 | def. Tompkins, 65-0
29 (31) | Destrehan (Louisiana) | 9-0 | def. Bourgeois, 44-12
30 (8) | Cedar Hill (Texas) | 7-2 | lost to Mansfield, 49-34
STOCK DOWN: Cedar Hill did not have an answer on defense for Mansfield as it gashed the Longhorns for over 300 yards rushing. Cedar Hill has the firepower to win a game against any team in the nation but it needs to come prepared to play defense if it wants to get back to the state finals.
31 (29) | Mater Dei Santa Ana (CA) | 7-2 | def. No. 69 Santa Margarita, 19-14
32 (9) | DeSoto (Texas) | 8-1 | def. Midlothian, 41-7
STOCK DOWN: DeSoto had its name drug through the mud with Cedar Hill losing by double-digits the week after it beat DeSoto by double-digits. Fair or unfair it continued to illustrate the vulnerability of teams that are defense-optional. Like Cedar Hill, DeSoto has the offense to stay on the field with any team ranked ahead of it but its defensive lapses have slowed the rise in rankings.
33 (30) | Centennial Corona (CA) | 7-2 | def. Corona, 46-7
34 (48) | St. Edward Lakewood (OH) | 8-2 | def. St. Ignatius, 41-10
STOCK UP: The Eagles scored 41 unanswered points to win the Holy War over rivals St. Ignatius. The team has rebounded from losing receiver Alex Stump and shuffled its offensive line to regain the look of the team that moved to No. 1 in the nationl during mid-September.
35 (38) | South Panola Batesville (MS) | 10-0 | def. Grenada, 38-24
36 (39) | Byrd Shreveport (LA) | 9-0 | def. Southwood, 34-12
37 (44) | St. Xavier Cincinnati (OH) | 8-2 | def. Louisville St. Xavier, 24-6
38 (35) | Blackman Murfreesboro (TN) | 9-1 | lost to No. 27 Hoover, 35-20
39 (41) | Maryville (Tennessee) | 10-0 | def. Farragut, 49-14
40 (33) | Dutch Fork Irmo (SC) | 8-2 | def. Westwood, 33-3
41 (34) | Byrnes Duncan (SC) | 9-1 | def. No. 89 Dorman, 17-16
42 (42) | Oakland Murfreesboro (TN) | 9-1 | def. Stewarts Creek, 54-7
43 (45) | Long Beach Poly (California) | 8-1 | def. Milikan, 57-0
44 (69) | La Salle Cincinnati (OH) | 9-1 | def. Elder, 56-34
STOCK UP: There was a serious discussion to put La Salle as the top team in Ohio as it has been one of the most consistent performers across the season from the Buckeye State. The team moved up to No. 3 in the state and inside the Top 50 as the playoffs are set to kickoff this week.
45 (52) | Martin Arlington (TX) | 7-2 | def. Arlington, 40-13
46 (53) | Hudson (Ohio) | 10-0 | def. Twinsburg, 51-13
47 (55) | Grant Sacramento (CA) | 9-0 | def. Davis, 66-6
48 (54) | Mentor (Ohio) | 9-1 | def. Strongsville, 30-7
49 (46) | IMG Academy Bradenton (FL)) | 9-1 | def. Clearwater Central Catholic, 50-21
50 (46) | Bergen Catholic Oradell (NJ) | 6-2 | Idle
51 (49) | Carmel (Indiana) | 11-0 | def. Fishers, 14-7
52 (50) | Don Bosco Ramsey (NJ) | 5-2 | def. Eastside, 56-6
53 (79) | Gilman Baltimore (MD) | 8-2 | def. Calvert Hall, 35-7
STOCK UP: Gilman has given a better accounting of itself since the season opened with some disappointing losses. The offense is still fairly elementary but it has been opened a little since the first month. The team has a lot of talent and it is showing as it matures.
54 (57) | Ware County Waycross (GA) | 9-0 | def. South Effington, 44-6
55 (56) | The Woodlands (Texas) | 8-1 | def. SUmmer Creek, 63-14
56 (51) | Niceville Niceville (FL) | 8-1 | def. Crestview, 34-10
57 (63) | Mansfield Timberview Arlington (TX) | 8-1 | def. Mansfield Legacy, 35-20
58 (64) | First Coast Jacksonville (FL) | 9-0 | def. Sandalwood, 34-7
59 (58) | Armwood Seffner (FL) | 9-0 | def. Chamberlain, 43-0
60 (59) | Dr. Phillips Orlando (FL) | 9-0 | def. Freedom, 35-3
61 (NR) | Centerville (Ohio) | 10-0 | def. No. 63 Wayne, 19-14
STOCK UP: A victory over Wayne helped to validate the undefeated run that Centerville has made to this point. The Ohio playoffs will be a wild path to navigate The Elks enter the second season with plenty of confidence after shutting down one of t he better offenses in the state.
62 (67) | Midway Waco (TX) | 9-0 | def. Belton, 49-19
63 (36) | Wayne Huber Heights (OH) | 9-1 | lost to No. 61 Centerville, 19-14

83 (NR) | Ponchatoula (Louisiana) | 10-0 | def. St. Paul, 52-16
STOCK UP: Another total newcomers to the national scene as Ponchatoula pushed into the HSFB100 this week. The Green Wave is emerging as a favorite for a Class 5A title.
84 (77) | Moeller Cincinnati (OH) | 7-3 | def. Louisville Trinity, 17-14
STOCK DOWN: Moeller found a way to win against Trinity this week but it does not go into the Ohio playoffs with many believers outside of its own locker room. An early loss will send the team outside of the national rankings.
85 (81) | Manatee Bradenton (FL) | 8-1 | def. Palm Harbor, 35-0

96 (75) | Stevenson Lincolnshire (IL) | 10-0 | def. Lyons, 21-17
STOCK DOWN: Two injuries on the offensive line stalled the Patriots offense and it could make the team primed for an upset this week. The team nearly lost its spot in the HSFb100 this week but there is a chnce both players get back onto the field in time . | 97 (NR) | Westlake Westlake Village (CA) | 7-2 | def. St. Bonaventure, 45-28 |
98 (40) | Punahou Honolulu (HI) | 7-0 | Idle
STOCK DOWN: Punahou has been the top team in Hawaii since the second week of the season and that had been good for a Top 50 ranking over half the season but video of the teams last games showed a differnt version than what had been expected. Hawaii was known to be down this year but even the top team is not what it was last year.
