How to make a quality recruiting video

You never have a second chance to make a good first impression.

For a student athlete fighting for the limited scholarship dollars across the college football landscape that impression is often made with a highlight reel.

Here are a few tips that should be followed when making your package:

Put your best plays first.

This should go without saying but the first clips should be your best plays - and have the biggest ‘wow’ factor. When going from player to player college coaches will only be watching the initial plays to determine if they need to go further if those plays do not grab their attention it doesn’t matter what follows. Also if you are overshadowed by another player in a clip leave that out.

Identify yourself in each play.

Unless you are a quarterback there is a need to let the coach know where you are lined up before the play so take the time to include an identifier — whether it is an arrow or a shadow, do it.

Allow the coach some time to recognize the formation.

This is as important as identifying yourself and can be done in the same way. Give the clip a few seconds of padding before the snap so that the coach can find where you are as well as look and see what the opposition is doing. It is a part of your highlight package and so the expectation is that you will do something well but making sure you are doing it correctly and not just having a breakdown in the defense is important.

Include a full game with your highlights.

Highlights are exactly what the name implies and while a coach wants to see you at your best there are parts of games that will be a glimpse at some of your lowlights. Showing how you play in every situation is an important evaluation tool and coaches want to see the full tape. Be sure to include information like the date and the opponent you are playing as well.

DO NOT make the introduction too long.

Generally speaking a coach knows what player he is about to watch either from the letter your DVD came in or from the email and link you have sent to the coach. Do not spend too much time with an introduction screen. Be complete but brief in giving your vital stats and information but move quickly to the action.

DO NOT change the game speed.

Coaches watch film in real time and know the speed of the game. Do not use slow- or fast-motion on a play. The ability for a coach to go back and watch your play is good enough and changing their perception of the play is not needed.

DO NOT cut the play off early.

This is simply removing any doubt and is not to be undervalued. As important as showing the alignment of the play is showing the result. It will be important to see you finish your run and not leave the worry that you were tackled from behind or fumbled as a result of a hit. Let the coach see the end of each play and then move to the next one.

DO NOT embellish what is happening.

Less is more on highlight reels and so sticking to the essentials is key. Do not add music. Do not use transitional effects between highlights. Do not have an extended introduction screen listing stats and all-district selections. Do not add graphical commentary on the screen.

2012 HSFB100 Rankings

This is a reproduction of the 2012 RivalsHigh 100 high school football rankings.

The original rankings were compiled by Dallas Jackson and can be found at this link.

That season New Orleans (La.) John Curtis Christian was a three-way split decision being named the national champions across multiple sites. Concord (Cali.) De La Salle and Katy (Texas) High was programs staking a claim as well. The RivalsHigh100 was the only poll to rank a top 100 that season.

John Curtis won its 25th state title and first national championship in 2012.

1	John Curtis	River Ridge	LA	14-0
	Louisiana Class 2A State Champions: John Curtis wrapped up an undefeated season with a 35-13 victory over Evangel Christian. The Patriots are loaded and play great football on both sides of the ball. This may be the best Curtis team ever.
2	De La Salle	Concord	CA	15-0
	California Open Division Champion: De La Salle – as it is one to do – improved on offense as the season progressed. The defense was one of the most talented in the country this season and carried the Spartans towards the top of the rankings.
3	Katy	Katy	TX	16-0
	Texas 5A Division II State Champion: Katy used its typically strong defense and overpowering running game to hoist a state title. The patchwork offensive line was strong enough to get the job done and the “next man up” mentality was in full display in its victory over Cedar Hill.
4	Allen	Allen	TX	15-1
	Texas 5A Division I State Champions: Allen made its way to the state finals with some battles through the bracket and then needed multiple big plays to take down Lamar. There was a major discussion as to whether this team was the best in Texas. The lone fault in the Lone Star State is not having one true class champion.
5	Norcross	Norcross	GA	16-0
	Georgia Class AAAAAA State Champions: A two-headed moster at running back and a underrated defense carried Norcross to a state title in one of the best states in the country for high school football.
6	Hoover	Hoover	AL	15-0
	Alabama Class 6A State Champions: Hoover finished the year as the only team ranked in Alabama, which is unusual for how good the state it. The Bucs were balanced on both sides of the ball but was paced by its typically strong defense.
7	DeSoto	Desoto	TX	14-1
	DeSoto defeated seven nationally ranked teams this season, a most impressive number, and its pushed the team to No. 1 nationally. It was unable to seal the deal and fell in the state semifinals.
8	Miami Central	Miami	FL	12-2
	Florida Class 6A State Champions: The top-ranked two-loss team in the country came on strong after a disappointing first month of the season to claim a state title. Central could be a threat to win a national title next year with what it brings back.
9	Booker T. Washington	Miami	FL	13-1
	Florida Class 4A State Champions: The Tornadoes were able to claim a state title by beating two teams it has historically struggled with in thumping Cocoa and then Bolles.
10	Bellevue	Bellevue	WA	14-0
	Washington Class 3A State Champion: A really great season for Bellevue was culminated with a state title victory. Most will still remember the victory over Euless Trinity as the signature of the season.
11	University School	Fort Lauderdale	FL	12-0
	Florida Class 3A State Champions: University School had a stellar season and capped it with a victory over Madison County in the state finals. There is a lot of talent returning next season as well.
12	North Allegheny	Wexford	PA	16-0
	Pennsylvania Quad A State Champions: Losing the state semifinals last season set the pace for this season as North Allegheny did not take prisoners through the playoffs. A strong offensive line paved the way for a state title.
13	Butler	Matthews	NC	15-0
	North Carolina Class 4A State Champion: Butler jumped out early and routed Jack Britt in the state finals game. This was a team that was circled as sophomores as one to watch and it delivered.
14	Carroll	Southlake	TX	12-2
	In what may be the best football game of the season, Southlake Carroll fell to DeSoto 49-45. The Dragons proved to be very strong on the year.
15	Centennial	Corona	CA	14-2
	Corona Centennial made short work of several SoCal opponents through the playoffs and advanced to an Open Division Finals appearance.
16	Narbonne	Harbor City	CA	14-1
	Narbonne won the City Section but fell to Corona Centennial in the Open Regional Finals to end its season.
17	Vista Murrieta	Murrieta	CA	13-1
	Vista Murrieta had bounced in and out of the Top 3 teams in California much of the regular season. It fell to an incredibly hot Corona Centennial team in the end.
18	Steele	Cibolo	TX	14-1
	A solid season for Steele was ended in the state semifinals against a very good Katy team.
19	Ensworth	Nashville	TN	13-0
	Tennessee Division II State Champion: The running of Corn Elder and coaching of Ricky Bowers pushed this team to the front of an incredibly deep Tennessee rankings this season.
20	Bishop Gorman	Las Vegas	NV	13-1
	Nevada Class 4A State Champion: There was little doubt that Bishop Gorman was going to win the state title. There is also little doubt that the team would love have had another shot at Bergen Catholic to avenge its early season loss.
21	Good Counsel	Olney	MD	11-1
	WCAC Champions: A very talented squad earned its final ranking with a list of quality wins. Its loss to Bishop Gorman is nothing to hang a head about.
22	Moeller	Cincinnati	OH	12-3
	Ohio Division I State Champion: Moeller suffered some setbacks this season but the loss to Elder may have jumpstarted a run to a state title.
23	Edna Karr	New Orleans	LA	14-0
	Louisiana Class 4A State Champions: Edna Karr had been the bridesmade but never the bride but this year it got over the hump and claimed a state title over Neville. Class 4A was again the best class in the state this year.
24	Greenwood	Greenwood	SC	15-0
	South Carolina Class 4A-DII State Champion: Greenwood flexed its muscle as the top team in the state going through South Pointe and Northwestern. It is a shame a finals with Goose Creek was eliminated by the state.
25	Trinity	Louisville	KY	13-1
	Kentucky Class 6A State Champion: The Shamrocks won another state title behind a six-pack of quality FBS-bound players. The overall level of play was not as high as the 2011 National Title winning team but a slight step back was expected.
26	St. Thomas Aquinas	Ft Lauderdale	FL	13-2
	Florida Class 7A State Champions: Aquinas has two unfortunate losses on its resume as it dominated play in one of those games and fell on a blown call in the other. Its state title was no fluke.
27	Manatee	Bradenton	FL	13-1
	Manatee ended its season with a tough loss to Aquinas in the state semi finals. A flip in situations from a few seasons ago when Manatee ruined the Raiders run towards a national title.
28	Gainesville	Gainesville	FL	15-1
	Gainesville had a strong season and pushed to the No. 1 spot in the state in some polls. It fell in the state finals to a Miami Central team that improved each week throughout the season.
29	Jenks	Jenks	OK	12-2
	Oklahoma Class 6 State Champions: Jenks took home the state title in Oklahoma and did it in impressive fashion. This had to be a satisfying season for players, coaches, and fans.
30	Neville	Monroe	LA	13-1
	Neville fell in the state finals against Karr. The two seemed destined to play all season and when they did it did not disappoint.
31	Whitehaven	Memphis	TN	15-0
	Tennessee Class 6A State Champion: Behind the running of Tennessee Mr. Football, Mark Dotson Jr., Whitehaven captured a state title. This team may have been the most talented in the entire state and fought to the end to secure the victory.
32	Rummel	Metairie	LA	14-0
	Louisiana Class 5A State Champions: Rummel played very good football all season but saved its best defensive performance for the state finals and locked down Barbe for the title.
33	Junipero Serra	Gardena	CA	14-2
	California Division II State Champions: Serra had a solid battle with Narbonne, and defeated Poly, before winning a state title.
34	Mesquite	Mesquite	TX	11-1
	Mesquite had a hot hand this year but lost in the second round of the Texas 5A-DI playoffs to Allen.
35	Bowie	Arlington	TX	11-2
	Bowie had a great season but fell to DeSoto in the playoffs. Its lone other loss was to Mesquite another team that made the Elite Eight in the state.
36	Skyline	Dallas	TX	12-2
	Skyline showed to be a stronger program that it has been in previous years and had a very solid season in an incredibly solid state of Texas this year.
37	Cathedral Prep School	Erie	PA	15-0
	Pennsylvania Three A State Champions: Erie Cathedral capped a stellar season with a state title. This team was in a debate for the top team in the state much of the second half of the season.
38	American Heritage School	Delray Beach	FL	11-1
	A very good season was ended in a loss to University School in second round of Florida Class 3A playoffs.
39	Skyline	Sammamish	WA	14-0
	Washington Class 4A State Champion: Top quarterback prospect Max Browne lead the Spartans to a state title. It would have been great had the battle with Manatee not fallen through.
40	Maryville	Maryville	TN	14-1
	Maryville showed that East Tennessee football was not going away. It downed Siegel and fell by one point to Whitehaven in the state finals.
41	Trinity	Euless	TX	10-3
	Trinity had some quality wins this season and lost three games to teams in the Top 25.
42	Northwestern	Rock Hill	SC	12-3
	A state runner-up finish is not a bad thing in South Carolina. The state has improved and this was a solid season.
43	Lovejoy	Hampton	GA	13-2
	Lovejoy showed a lot of promise in the summer circuit and carried it over to a regular season and played its way to a state finals appearance.
44	Camden County	Kingsland	GA	11-2
	A disappointing end to the season as Camden County and all of its talent was unable to make the Final Four in Georgia.
45	Whitmer	Toledo	OH	14-1
	Whitmer showed well in the state playoffs and fell in the finals to Moeller.
46	Colerain	Cincinnati	OH	12-1
	Colerain fell to Moeller in the Regional finals of Ohio Division I. After defeating St. X twice in the same season many felt this was the team to beat.
47	Mentor	Mentor	OH	12-2
	Mentor played with fire defeating St. Iggy and St. Ed before falling to Toledo Whitmer in Ohio Division I semifinals.
48	St. Ignatius	Cleveland	OH	11-2
	St. Ignatius fell to Mentor in the Regional finals of Ohio Division I playoffs.
49	St. Edward	Lakewood	OH	11-1
	St. Edward fell in the second round of the Ohio playoffs to Mentor.
50	Gaffney	Gaffney	SC	12-3
	South Carolina Class 4A-DI State Champion: After a terrible start to the season, Gaffney turned the reins over to Shaq Davidson which resulted in a state finals victory.
51	Byrnes	Duncan	SC	11-3*
	Lost to Gaffney twice on the season, once in South Carolina 4A-DI semi finals.
52	Coppell	Coppell	TX	11-1
	Lost to DeSoto in second round of Texas 5A-DI playoffs. The highlight of the season was downing Allen in overtime.
53	Glenbard West	Glen Ellyn	IL	14-0
	Illinois Class 7A Champions: Defeated Lincoln-Way East to win state title. The state had plenty of great defenses but not much offense was played in Illinois this year.
54	South Pointe	Rock Hill	SC	12-2
	Lost to Greenwood in South Carolina 4A-DII playoffs after looking like it may be a team to beat early in the season.
55	Siegel	Murfreesboro	TN	13-1

	North Gwinnett magic ran out against Lovejoy in the Elite Eight round in Georgia-AAAAAA.

	For a team with as much defensive talent as Grayson it simply did not have anything consistent on offense and it cost the team twice.
58	Cedar Hill	Cedar Hill	TX	11-5
	It may seem odd to have a five-loss team near the Top 50 but four of those losses were to teams inside the Top 10 in the country. Cedar Hill made a run to the state finals in Texas and proved worthy of the ranking.
59	Midway	Waco	TX	13-1
	Texas has some of the best football in the country and Midway ran into a streaking Cedar Hill a week after an emotional battle with Abilene and it ended its season.
60	Abilene	Abilene	TX	12-1
	A solid season ended with a great contest against Waco Midway. Texas depth this season may have been as good as any in the last decade.
61	Gilman School	Baltimore	MD	10-2
	Conference Champions: Defeated Calvert Hall to win conference title. It also downed Don Bosco this season.
62	Granite Bay	Granite Bay	CA	13-3
	California Division I State Champions: After opening the season with a couple of disappointing game, Granite Bay rolled off a series of victories that concluded with a state title.
63	Poly	Long Beach	CA	12-4
	Poly came back into the national rankings in a major way with a run through the PAC5 playoffs. It fell in the Division I Bowl to Granite Bay.
64	Mater Dei	Santa Ana	CA	11-3
	Mater Dei looked to be getting back to form this season and earned its ranking. It fell to Poly in the PAC5 finals.
65	St. John Bosco	Bellflower	CA	8-5*
	Yet another in a line of teams to fall to Long Beach Poly in the PAC5 playoffs.
66	Jordan	Sandy	UT	12-1
	Utah 5A State Champs: Defeated Syracuse 58-2 to win the state title. Austin Kefentzis will prove to be a force as the sophomore quarterback develops.
67	Mission Viejo	Mission Viejo	CA	11-1
	Would you believe another ranked team lost to Poly in the PAC5 playoffs, well Viejo was the first to fall. The Diablos had a solid season going until it hit the hot Jackrabbits.
68	Lloyd C Bird	Chesterfield	VA	15-0
	Virginia Division 6 State Champions: Bird flew under the radar and claimed a state title by downing Ocean Lakes, 14-10.
69	Ocean Lakes	Virginia Beach	VA	14-1
	Virginia had a strong season and Ocean Lakes was part of that. It fell in the stae finals to Bird.
70	Oscar Smith	Chesapeake	VA	11-2
	Lost to Ocean Lakes in Virginia semifinals and Byrnes in out-of-state play earlier in the season.
71	Colquitt County	Moultrie	GA	10-4
	Colquitt continues to be one of the most perplexing teams in the country. It always losses a game or two that it shouldn’t and then makes a run in the playoffs.
72	Mallard Creek	Charlotte	NC	12-2
	Mallard Creek suffered two losses on the season and both were to Butler. The Charlotte school is an emerging power in the state and nation.
73	Lincoln Way East	Frankfort	IL	13-1
	A state runner-up in Illinois Class 7A is nothing to be ashamed of. The final game was a battle and offensively neither team had it going.
74	St. Bonaventure	Ventura	CA	11-2
	St. Bonaventure played several battles this season – defeating Corona Centennial in one contest – then lost to Mater Dei in PAC5 semifinals.
75	Godby	Tallahassee	FL	14-1
	Florida Class 5A State Champions: Godby capped its season with a skin-of-its-teeth victory in the state finals. Its strong season was rewarded with a state title and a RivalsHigh 100 ranking.
76	Lamar	Houston	TX	15-1
	Lamar flew relatively under the radar and made it to the state finals in Texas. It gave Allen a game and impressed many with its efforts on the season and in the title game.
77	Fayetteville	Fayetteville	AR	10-3
	Arkansas Class 7A State Champion: A classic team that improves as the season goes on, Fayetteville won another state title over Bentonville.
78	Bentonville	Bentonville	AR	12-1
	It may be time to acknowledge the Fayetteville gets better as the season goes and may have the number on Bentonville.
79	Lincoln	Tallahassee	FL	12-2
	Lincoln fell to Godby and St. Thomas Aquinas during the season. Both schools won its respective state titles.
80	Naples	Naples	FL	13-1
	Naples played strong all season but fell to Miami Central in the state semi finals. The 48-33 game was not a bad way to end the year with how much Miami Central has improved.
81	Cass Tech	Detroit	MI	12-2
	Michigan Division I State Champions: Cass Tech refocused and found its form similar to last season. It repeated as state champs.
82	Brother Rice	Bloomfield Hills	Mi	12-2
	Michigan Division 2 State Champions: After a midseason lull, Brother Rice founds it postseason legs and ran to a state title.
83	Lawrence Central	Indianapolis	IN	15-0
	Indiana State Champions: An undefeated state championship was certainly earned on the field with a tough playoff run.
84	Kahuku	Kahuku	HI	12-0
	Hawaii State Champions: Kahuku downed Farrington and Punahou to win the states largest class.
85	Hamilton	Chandler	AZ	12-2
	Arizona 5A DI State Champions: Hamilton opened the year with two losses but rebounded to win 12 straight and a state title.
86	Apopka	Apopka	FL	14-2
	Florida Class 8A State Champions: In what was expected to be a high scoring game, Apopka edged Cy Bay for a state title claiming a victory for the North group of teams in the state.
87	Cypress Bay	Weston	FL	12-3
	Cypress Bay played its way to a state title game but lost in an epic game to Apopka. The thre losses were to Aquinas, Manatee, and Apopka.
88	Arrowhead	Hartland	WI	14-0
	Wisconsin State Champion: Arrowhead earned a state championship and was a midwestern team with few flaws.
89	Folsom	Folsom	CA	14-1
	Folsom made an impressive run through the playoffs before running into De La Salle. Had there been no Regional Bowl games there is a real chance Folsom would have won the Division II title.
90	Madison	Madison	FL	12-2
	Madison County fell twice this year, both in heartbreakers to University School and Gainesville.
91	Coatesville Area Senior	Coatesville	PA	14-3
	Coatesville made a tremendouse statement in advancing to the Quad A finals in Pennsylvania and may have had one of the programs best teams ever. It fell to a blazing hot North Allegheny team.
92	La Salle	Wyndmoor	PA	13-2
	La Salle fell in a relatively big upset in the state semi finals to Coatesville.
93	St. Joseph’s	Philadelphia	PA	10-1
	After a strong season St. Joseph lost to La Salle in the district playoffs and its season was over before Thanksgiving.
94	Bishop Carroll	Wichita	KS	14-0
	Kansas State Champions: Carroll looked the part of a RivalsHigh 100 team in an impressive state finals victory.
95	Lake Taylor	Norfolk	VA	15-0
	Virginia Division 5 State Champions: Lake Taylor crushed Phoebus to get on the national radar and then held on to win a state title over Stone Bridge.
96	Cocoa	Cocoa	FL	10-3
	Cocoa had an odd year getting buried in a couple of games but playing a much more physical brand of football in downing Bergen Catholic.
97	Paramus Catholic	Paramus	NJ	10-2
	New Jersey Non-Public Group IV Champion: A title usually held for Don Bosco was filled by Paramus Catholic and powered by former Iron Man, Jabrill Peppers.
98	St. Joseph’s	Montvale	NJ	10-2
	New Jersey Non-Public Group III Champion: In a pack of Jersey teams clinging to the rankings, St. Joe sticks its landing in the 90s after defeating Delbarton for a title.
99	Bergen Catholic	Oradell	NJ	8-4
	Bergen Catholic was as confounding as Colquitt County this season with its up and down performance. It may have spent its emotional load with a win over Don Bosco and didn’t finish against Paramus Catholic.
100	Don Bosco Prep	Ramsey	NJ	8-3
	Don Bosco’s season peaked with a win over St. Thomas Aquinas. It fell to Bergen Catholic in the playoffs. This may have been the worst Don Bosco team in more than a decade but it is still a Top 100 team and that speaks to coach Greg Toal.

This is a reproduction of the 2011 RivalsHigh 100 high school football rankings.

The original rankings were compiled by Dallas Jackson and can be found at this link.

That season Louisville (Kent.) Trinity was a controversial decision being named the national champions across multiple sites with Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco staking its claim as well. The RivalsHigh100 was the only poll to rank a top 100 that season.

1	Trinity	Louisville	KY	14-0
	RivalsHigh 100 National Champion and Kentucky Class 6A State Champion: The Shamrocks wrapped up a state title with a 600-yard performance on offense in a 62-21 win over Scott County. The team was the most consistently dominant all season and did not have any performance that could lead to questions of its spot at the top. It was a complete season that was rewarded with a national title.
2	Don Bosco Prep	Ramsey	NJ	11-0
	New Jersey Non-Public Group IV Champion: On the backs of one of the best defenses in the country, Don Bosco made a statement in a 42-14 win over Bergen Catholic. The team had one of the best schedules in the country and narrowly missed the top spot.
3	Armwood	Seffner	FL	15-0
	Florida Class 6A State Champion The Hawks, like Don Bosco at No. 2, have an impressive resume of wins – in fact Armwood likley has the best three wins of any team nationally – but it left too many windows open to climb to the top spot nationally. This team was brought together with adversity and shined all the way to a state title.
4	Grayson	Loganville	GA	15-0
	Georgia Class AAAAA State Champion: The Rams had a healthy mix of run and pass this season, but it was the defense that carried the flag in the state title game as it put the clamps on a very good Walton team.
5	Lake Travis	Austin	TX	16-0
	Texas Class 4ADI State Champion: The Cavaliers completed its Drive for Five with a state title victory over Waco Midway. For the second time in three seasons Lake Travis ends the year as the top team in Texas. It will move to Class 5A next year.
6	Good Counsel	Olney	MD	12-0
	Washington, D.C. Catholic League champion: Wins over Manatee and Gilman made it a solid season for the Falcons. The team was loaded with talent and it showed on the field.
7	Bishop Gorman	Las Vegas	NV	15-1
	Nevada Class 4A State Champion: Bishop Gorman used a talented senior class and strong out-of-state performances to mark the most nationally-successful season in the program’s history.
8	Bellevue	Bellevue	WA	14-0
	Washington Class 3A State Champion: The Wolverines used a solid defense and its always potent Wing-T offense to win another state title. This is easily the best Bellevue team since its 2004 squad.
9	Carroll	Southlake	TX	16-0
	Texas Class 5ADI State Champion: The Dragons navigated a tough regular season and a difficult playoff path that nearly ended in the first round and semifinals to take home a title. The team was a preseason favorite for the Division II title but claimed the bigger of the two in Texas’ highest classification.
10	Skyline	Dallas	TX	14-1
	Skyline advanced to the state semifinals and was just over two minutes from playing for a state title. The hard luck loss to Southlake Carroll will leave a bad taste in the Raiders mouths.
11	Manatee	Bradenton	FL	13-2
	Florida Class 7A State Champion: Manatee lost to Don Bosco and Good Counsel but won out in Florida. It had a few close calls and the team does not have the name brand talent it has had in recent seasons but it came together and got a state title and nearly a Top 10 finish to the season.
12	Miami Norland	Miami	FL	15-0
	Florida Class 5A State Champion: The Vikings were supremely talented and dominated the Class 5A run. Duke Johnson on offense was spectacular and the defense made plays when it was needed to.
13	Archbishop Wood Catholic	Warminster	PA	13-1
	Pennsylvania Class 3A State Champion: There are few teams in the country that ended the season as hot as Archbishop Wood. A combined 122-14 semifinals and final round scoreboard over two talented teams is incredible. This ranking could have been higher but as the No. 3 one-loss team it was hard to push into the Top 10.
14	Prattville	Prattville	AL	12-2
	Alabama Class 6A State Champion: Prattville was one of the most talented teams in the country this season and it was able to fight back from a disappointing loss mid-season to win a state title and cement a Top 15 finish nationally.
15	Maryville	Maryville	TN	15-0
	Tennessee Class 6A State Champion: One of the best Maryville teams in the last decade used a dominating performance through the playoffs to put a stamp on the season.
16	Plant	Tampa	FL	14-1
	Florida Class 8A State Champion: Plant has a staff full of head coaches and the team gets better as the season goes on. This year was no different as it peaked in the state finals downing a very talented Miramar.
17	Miramar	Miramar	FL	13-1
	Miramar had a very good season and battled until the very end. It ran into a Plant team that was well prepared for the game and it was its undoing. A Class 8A runner-up in a power state like Florida keeps it in the Top 25.
18	De La Salle	Concord	CA	13-1
	California Open Bowl Champions: De La Salle has shown to be the premier team in California. Its game against Westlake in the finals was as complete of a game as the Spartans had all season. The team truly gets better as the season goes and it would be great to see it play its out-of-state games in December because of it.
19	Dekaney	Houston	TX	14-2
	Texas Class 5ADII State Champion: The first playoff appearance for Dekaney results in its first state championship. It will be largely credited to All-American Trey Williams who carried the load all season.
20	Byrnes	Duncan	SC	13-2
	South Carolina Class 4A Division I State Champion: Byrnes continued to improve as the season went on. It avenged its loss to Gaffney in the state final and used its defense to make the plays forcing four turnovers.
21	Gaffney	Gaffney	SC	14-1
	The Indians held the No. 2 spot nationally for the majority of the season but two turnovers for touchdowns in the state final game cost it a perfect season and a seat at the national title discussion table.
22	Carmel	Carmel	IN	14-1
	Indiana Class 5A State Champion: Carmel avenged an early season loss to Warren Central then beat Davis and Center Grove en route to a state title and Top 25 finish.
23	Warren Central	Indianapolis	IN	12-1
	Warren Central climbed as high as No. 3 nationally but its emotional yo-yo was its undoing against Carmel in the regional final.
24	John Curtis	River Ridge	LA	14-0
	Louisiana Class 2A State Champion: The Patriots were downright nasty on defense this year and bring a lot of that back next year. The offense was run-heavy and it was hard to stop. A return to the Top 25 is a reward for the national power.
25	Lake Oswego	Lake Oswego	OR	14-0
	Oregon Class 6A State Champion: A dominating win in the state final over Sheldon makes for a memorable year for a solid team. It was the teams first state title and its first time in the Top 25 nationally.
26	Tucker	Tucker	GA	15-0
	Georgia Class AAAA State Champion: Tucker played solidly through a difficult playoff path and won a state title. Downing Northside and Lovejoy in back-to-back weeks shows it can play a physical brand of football with the best of them.
27	Miami Central	Miami	FL	13-1
	The Rockets played a lot of tight games this year and game out the victor in all but one – its state finals game with Armwood.
28	Lafayette	Oxford	MS	16-0
	Mississippi Class 4A State Champion: Ending the season as the No. 1 team in the state is very impressive for a Class 4A team. The season was solid and the team showed its ability on both sides of the ball.
29	Steele	Cibolo	TX	15-1
	Steele made its second appearance in two years at the Class 5ADII level in Texas. This year it ran into a special Dekaney team that was paced by two All-American players. Many doubted the Knights would return to this level and it showed plenty of resolve to do just that.
30	Olive Branch	Olive Branch	MS	15-0
	Mississippi Class 6A State Champion: Olive Branch had some late game escapes this season, but a season of destiny was completed with the school’s first-ever state title.
31	Santa Margarita	Rancho Santa Margarita	CA	13-2
	California Division I Bowl Champion: Santa Margarita trailed by double-digits and scored in the last minute to claim the Division I title. The junior lead team figures to be back hunting for bear next season.
32	Chaparral	Scottsdale	AZ	14-1
	Arizona Class 5A Division II State Champion: The lone blemish is a season-opening loss to Bishop Gorman. This was a solid team and a very talented roster that could have competed in most any state.
33	Scotland County	Laurinburg	NC	15-0
	North Carolina Class 4A State Champion: The best team in the state did not come from the biggest class as Scotland County put together the best season in school history.
34	Gilman School	Baltimore	MD	10-1
	Maryland Conference A champion: Gilman downed a quality Calvert Hall team to win the title. It fell to Good Counsel and beat Oscar Smith this year as well.
35	Northside School	Warner Robins	GA	13-1
	One of the best defenses in Georgia was a semfinalist in Class AAAA. The team fell by one point to Tucker.
36	Page	Greensboro	NC	15-0
	North Carolina Class 4AA State Champion: A remarkable run through the playoffs ends the way it should – with a deserved state title. Page knocked off season-long favorites Butler and Mallard Creek.
37	St. Ignatius	Cleveland	OH	13-2
	Ohio Division I State Champion: St. Ignatius made a remarkable run to a state title with a strong defense and a senior lead offense.
38	Vista Murrieta	Murrieta	CA	9-5*
	Vista Murrieta was hit with five forfeits early in the season and it likely cost the team a chance to play in the Division I Bowl Game. It won its Section and ended the year undefeated on the field.
39	Ensworth	Nashville	TN	12-1
	Tennessee Division II State Champion: Ensworth may have the best coach in the entire state with Ricky Bowers. The team was built around its talent and it improved as the season went on.
40	Colquitt County	Moultrie	GA	11-3
	Wins over Madison County, Lowndes, and Camden County are really nice. The team was two minutes from a return to the state championship game before falling to Grayson.
41	Westlake	Westlake Village	CA	14-1
	Westlake had a tough time slowing De La Salle in the Open Division Bowl game and it compounded the issue by throwing interceptions in the endozone killing its own scoring opportunities. It was a solid season for the team and advancing to a CIF Open Bowl game is a reward for that.
42	Valor Christian	Highlands Ranch	CO	14-0
	Colorado Class 4A State Champion: Valor Christian hammered every team it played this season and easily won a state title. It could have competed in many other states and in a few years it will have to, as no team will want to play it.
43	Camden County	Kingsland	GA	12-1
	Camden Country ascended to the top spot in Georgia and had its chances to advance but was undone in a one-point playoff loss to Colquitt County.
44	Union	Tulsa	OK	13-1
	Oklahoma Class 6A State Champion: The team needed every point it got this season as it won its last three playoff games by a combined three points.
45	Cass Tech	Detroit	MI	11-3
	Michigan Division I State Champion: Cass Tech was loaded with talent, but disappointed early in the year. It flipped a switch and allowed just 29 points the last six weeks of the season and dominated the state final game against Catholic Central.
46	Walton	Marietta	GA	14-1
	A state runner-up in Georgia is nothing to scoff at. The team was unable to get anything going offensively against Grayson at the Georgia Dome.
47	Lakes	Lakewood	WA	11-1
	A talented roster fell to Bellevue in the state quarterfinals.
48	Goose Creek	Goose Creek	SC	14-1
	South Carolina Class 4A Division II State Champion: Goose Creek was the preseason No. 2 team in the state, behind Byrnes, and both ended the year with state titles.
49	Broken Arrow	Broken Arrow	OK	12-2
	Broken Arrow has to feel like it let one slip away in the state final. It had two costly turnovers that led to a one-point loss.
50	Hoover	Hoover	AL	13-2
	Hoover fought hard all season and came together like maybe no other team in the face of many adversities. Making the state final, and losing by one point, are the marks of a champion and this team was in every aspect.
51	Martin	Arlington	TX	12-2
	Martin shocked the Texas football world by knocking off Euless Trinity in the third round. It fell to Southlake Carroll the next week.
52	Glades Central	Belle Glade	FL	12-1
	The Raiders had a solid season under a first year head coach but fell short in the playoffs against a loaded Norland team. The future is bright at Glades Central.
53	Trinity	Euless	TX	12-1
	On a wet, windy day, the Trojans were unable to get anything going on offense and against a quality Arlington Martin team, it was the season-ender for an always tough team.
54	Neville	Monroe	LA	14-0
	Louisiana Class 4A State Champion: Class 4A, again, had the most top to bottom depth in the state and Neville came out on top of that pile. It was a solid season and a deserved place among the Top 100.
55	Sheldon	Eugene	OR	13-1
	Sheldon advanced into the Top 25 this season but ran into a Lake Oswego team that was on tilt in the state final. A very good year for Sheldon and for Oregon high school football.
56	Allen	Allen	TX	11-1
	Allen climbed to the top spot in the nation for two weeks. The team never seemed to find a groove that it could settle into and played a lot of games that could have gone either way. It ultimately lost in the second round to Euless Trinity.
57	Calhoun	Calhoun	GA	15-0
	Georgia Class AA State Champion: Calhoun finally got over the hump and knocked off Buford in the state final. After three consecutive losses, the win is certainly cherished for the community.
58	Bolingbrook	Bolingbrook	IL	13-1
	Illinois Class 8A State Champion: A great postseason run was capped by a 21-17 win over Loyola Academy and a state championship for the school.
59	Longview	Longview	TX	11-2
	Longview has two losses on the year, one to Allen and one to state winner Dekaney. It also knocked off DeSoto to win the district.
60	Buford	Buford	GA	14-1
	Buford could not get much going against Calhoun in the state final and its drive for a record fifth-straight state title was ended with a lost fumble in overtime.
61	DeSoto	Desoto	TX	10-2
	DeSoto had a lot of promise this season but fell in the second round to Dallas Skyline.
62	Dwyer	West Palm Beach	FL	12-2
	Dwyer advanced to the state semifinal round in Florida but fell to Manatee. It had its chances to win but did not convert on a late fourth down.
63	Desert Vista	Phoenix	AZ	13-1
	Arizona Class 5A Division I State Champion: Desert Vista avenged an early season loss and beat Hamilton for the state title.
64	Mallard Creek	Charlotte	NC	13-1
	Running into a white-hot Page team in the semifinals ended what could have been a special season at Mallard Creek.
65	Hamilton	Chandler	AZ	13-1
	Hamilton had a solid year for a group that was expected to be somewhat rebuilding. A loss in the state final game was surprising.
66	Aledo	Aledo	TX	14-2
	Texas Class 4ADII State Champion: Johnathan Gray set a national record for touchdowns as well as winning the total yardage title for his efforts. It was the third straight title for the suburban-Ft. Worth team.
67	St. Thomas Aquinas	Ft Lauderdale	FL	10-3
	The team that started the season was not the team that finished it. Wins over Prattville and De La Salle are saving graces over an inexplicably disappearing offense.
68	Bellarmine Prep	San Jose	CA	12-2
	Bellarmine nearly knocked off Santa Margarita to win the Division I Bowl but lost in the last minutes. The team is not pretty and will not win games getting off the bus but it is hard to argue with results.
69	Loyola Academy	Wilmette	IL	13-1
	Illinois was tough to read this year with a lot of teams fighting at that top spot. Loyola came up just short as it fell in the state final.
70	Greenwood	Greenwood	SC	13-2
	The lone two losses were to Class 4A DI state finalist Gaffney and in the 4A DII final to Goose Creek.
71	The Woodlands	The Woodlands	Tx	12-2
	The Woodlands nearly took a step to the Final Four but fell just short against Dallas Skyline. It led for a large portion of the game but could not close the deal.
72	Lone Peak	Highland	UT	14-0
	Utah Class 5A State Champion: This was not the best of seasons for Utah but Lone Peak was able to down the best teams in the state and claim a title.
73	Martinsburg	Martinsburg	WV	14-0
	West Virginia Class AAA State Champion: A solid defense led this team to the highest finish for a West Virginia team in the history of the RivalsHigh rankings.
74	American Heritage School	Delray Beach	FL	12-1
	Florida Class 3A State Champion: A narrow loss to Glades Central is the lone blemish to a resume that includes wins over University School and Madison County.
75	Hightower	Missouri City	TX	13-3
	Hightower and Bralon Addison ran all the way to a Class 5ADI finals appearance but fell a little short. There may not be a talent like Addison to walk the halls at the school in a long time.
76	Pulaski Academy	Little Rock	AR	14-0
	Arkansas Class 4A State Champion: The top team in Arkansas does not come from its top class as Pulaski Academy was impressive all season and added wins over teams in higher classes to go along with a state title.
77	Helix	La Mesa	CA	13-1
	California Division II Bowl Champion: Helix was dominant on offense and defense much of the season and it was stingy in the Division II Bowl victory over Del Oro.
78	Ben Davis	Indianapolis	IN	10-3
	Davis had a solid season pushing the top teams in the state to the brink and defeating Indy Cathedral. It lost to Carmel to end the season.
79	Indianapolis Cathedral	Indianapolis	IN	12-3
	Indiana Class 4A State Champion: Indy Cath fought hard all season and lost some close decisions. It won a state title by crushing Washington, 42-7.

	Massachussetts Super Bowl Champion: This is not your typical New England football team. Everett was very talented and could sling the football. Jonathan DiBiaso led the team to another title and a finish in the RivalsHigh 100. He broke his own state record with 44 touchdown passes this year and ended his career with 103.
81	Central	Pickerington	OH	11-3
	A solid playoff run was ended at the hands of a streaking St. Ignatius team.
82	Madison Central	Madison	MS	11-3
	It was a tale of two seasons for Madison Central as it started slow, changed offensive mindsets, then made a run to the state semifinals. A win over West Monroe along the way was nice.
83	West Monroe	West Monroe	LA	13-2
	Louisiana Class 5A State Champion: This may have been the least expected of the many state titles at West Monroe. The team played in many tight games but fought to get to the top of the mountain.
84	Bergen Catholic	Oradell	NJ	8-3
	Bergen may be the first-ever team to end the season nationally ranked without double digit wins and three losses. With two coming at the hands of an outstanding Don Bosco team and one to Tampa Plant it is hard to ignore the quality of the product.
85	Del Oro	Loomis	CA	13-2
	Del Oro suffered two setbacks this season. To No.41 Westlake and No. 77 Helix. Playing in the Division II Bowl game was a great reward for a solid senior class.
86	Port Arthur Memorial	Port Arthur	TX	13-2
	Memorial avenged an early season loss to LaPorte to advance to the state semifinal round in Texas before falling to Steele.
87	Carencro	Lafayette	LA	13-2
	Carencro fought its way to a Class 5A state final but fell to West Monroe in a solid football game.
88	Fayetteville	Fayetteville	AR	12-2
	Arkansas Class 7A State Champion: Led by its quarterback, Austin Allen, the Bulldogs fought for a state title win over Bentonville.
89	La Porte	La Porte	TX	12-2
	A season-defining win over Katy was an excellent step for the program. It may have also been emotionally draining as the team lost the following week.
90	Bentonville	Bentonville	AR	12-1
	The Tigers climbed into the Top 10 for one week this season but slid back down the ranking before losing on a two point conversion in the state final.
91	Katy	Katy	TX	12-1
	Katy failed to make it out of the third round of the playoffs for the first time since 2001. It held the top spot in Texas for a couple of weeks.
92	Jenks	Jenks	OK	10-3
	Jenks could have had a better season had Alex Ross been healthy all year. He wasn’t and the losses piled up. His value and Jenks ability was showcased the last two weeks of the playoffs.
93	Coeur d’Alene	Coeur D Alene	ID	12-0
	Idaho Class 5A State Champion: This was the most complete team in Idaho all season and its win over Eagle in the final put an exclamation point to that claim.
94	Skyline	Sammamish	WA	11-3
	Washington Class 4A State Champion: Skyline rebounded from a slow start to claim another state title. This was expected to be a rebuilding year for the Spartans but it only needed to build room in the trophy case.
95	Oscar Smith	Chesapeake	VA	14-1
	Virginia Division 6 State Champion: Oscar Smith fought through the cluster of teams to get back to the winners’ circle and national rankings, winning a state title. It held off Phoebus, which also won its Division title, for the top spot in the state.
96	Bolles	Jacksonville	FL	14-1
	Florida Class 4A State Champion: An extremely physical team could compete with most any team in the country. It had a furious fourth quarter comeback to down Booker T. Washington in the state finals.
97	Whitmer	Toledo	OH	14-1
	Whitmer battled all season but was undone with multiple turnovers in the state semifinal game against St. Ignatius. It was a bit of a flat year in Ohio with many teams fighting interplay results and only the top three teams made the national rankings.
98	Booker T. Washington	Miami	FL	12-2
	The junior heavy team may have gotten out over its skis as it had a big lead in the fourth quarter of the state final against Bolles. Its only two losses were to Miami Central and Bolles. This is a team to watch in 2012.
99	Blue Springs South	Blue Springs	MO	12-2
	Missouri Class 6A State Champion: It was a solid season in Missouri and one that saw Blue Springs South get hot during the playoffs and take out teams perceived to have the advantage on it. The 40-37 win over Christian Brothers sealed the season.
100	St. Anthony’s	Melville	NY	10-0
	New York Class AAA State Champion: It is a rarity that a New York state team ends the year in the national rankings, but this was a solid all-around football team that earned its place.

This is a reproduction of the 2010 RivalsHigh 100 high school football rankings.

The original rankings were compiled by Dallas Jackson and can be found at this link with additional rankings broken down by state.

That season Batesville (Miss.) South Panola was named the national champions across multiple sites but the RivalsHigh100 was the only poll to rank a top 100.

	National Champion. Mississippi Class 6A State Champion: The Tigers ascended to the top of the rankings at the end of August and were able to hold off a late charge from several teams from power states to claim the title.
2	St. Thomas Aquinas	Ft Lauderdale	FL	15-0	3
	Florida Class 5A State Champion: The Raiders could give any team in the country fits with its physical defense and balanced offense. It cleaned house in its class.
3	St. Edward	Lakewood	OH	15-0	2
	Ohio Division I State Champion: The Eagles played the most difficult schedule in the nation and navigated it without a blemish.
4	De La Salle	Concord	CA	14-0	12
	California Open Division Champion: The Spartans left no doubt as to which team was the best in California this year, rolling Pac-5 champion Servite in the Open Division Bowl. A win over Nevada champion Bishop Gorman ends the year as the best out-of-state win.
5	Northwestern	Rock Hill	SC	15-0	4
	South Carolina Class 4A Division II State Champions: National Player of the Year favorite Justin Worley led the Trojans to a state title beating Greenwood, 42-10. Worley threw for over 5,000 yards and 64 touchdowns this year, beating five ranked teams in the process.
6	Don Bosco Prep	Ramsey	NJ	12-0	8
	New Jersey Non-Public Group IV State Champion: A season after winning a national championship, Don Bosco will end in the Top 10. The Iron Men downed rival Bergen Catholic, 37-27 for the state crown.
7	Pearland	Pearland	TX	16-0	37
	Texas Class 5A Division I State Champion: Not enough respect was paid to Pearland (which was the No. 44 team in the Texas preseason rankings) until it had to beat Katy and Trinity to win the state title. A fantastic run to the school’s first state title.
8	Trinity	Euless	TX	15-1	5
	Trinity fought hard and was on the cusp of a claim for a national title. The team was so good that Pearland only made two mistakes in the Texas 5ADI finals and it almost cost it the game. Trinity was by-far best one-loss team in the country.
9	Butler	Matthews	NC	16-0	7
	North Carolina Class 4AA State Champion: One of the best years in Butler history ended with a state title. With the number and quality of returning juniors and sophomores, there could be two more state titles very soon.
10	Bingham	South Jordan	UT	13-0	14
	Utah Class 5A State Champion: The Miners rolled through Utah this season. With a team loaded with Division I talent, this Bingham squad could have played with any team in any state.
11	Wheaton Warrenville South	Wheaton	IL	14-0	10
	Illinois Class 7A State Champion: The Tigers finish the year as the top team in Illinois, defeating Lake Zurich in the title game.
12	Daphne	Daphne	AL	15-0	16
	Alabama Class 6A State Champion: Under the radar for much of the season, Daphne made an impressive run through the state tournament and ended with a 7-6 win over Hoover.
13	Hamilton	Chandler	AZ	15-0	15
	Arizona Class 5A Division I State Champion: The Huskies began and ended the season as the top team in Arizona.
14	Miami Central	Miami	FL	15-1	21
	Florida Class 6A State Champion: The Rockets used an amazing championship performance by Devonta Freeman to win the first state title in Central history. The team ends the year No. 2 in Florida.
15	Hoover	Hoover	AL	14-1	18
	Hoover played a fantastic schedule and proved to be one of the elite programs in the nation. A solid season ended with a 7-6 loss in the Alabama Class 6A state finals.
16	Mullen	Denver	CO	14-0	19
	Colorado Class 5A State Champion: The Mustangs had one of the best defenses in the nation and it flexed its muscles all year, only allowing 89 total points against it.
17	Acadiana	Lafayette	LA	10-5*	22
	Louisiana Class 5A State Champion: The Wreckin’ Rams were one of the hottest teams in the country come December. It had to forfeit four games so the 10-5 record is decieving; it should be 13-1.
18	Phoebus	Hampton	VA	15-0	20
	Virginia Division V State Champion: The Phantoms used a dominating defense to take home another state title. The team only allowed 80 points all season.
19	Coppell	Coppell	TX	13-1	23
	The Cowboys had one of the best teams in the country and nearly knocked off Trinity in what may be one of the best high school football games of all time.
20	West Monroe	West Monroe	LA	14-1	24
	The Rebels came up just short against Acadiana in the state final, losing 21-14. The season was still a good one and the team proved to be a Top 25 team.
21	Dr. Phillips	Orlando	FL	14-1	6
	One of the most talented teams in Florida made it to the state finals before falling to Miami Central. It was still a Top 25 season for the Panthers.
22	Meridian	Meridian	MS	14-1	34
	One of the better defenses in the country was worn down by one of the best teams in the country. Meridian lost to South Panola in the Mississippi Class 6A state final.
23	Jefferson	Tampa	FL	14-0	35
	Florida Class 3A State Champion: The Dragons high-flying pass offense set plenty of Florida state records on its way to the title and a Top 25 national ranking.
24	Katy	Katy	TX	13-1	45
	Katy was oh-so-close in its loss to Pearland in the Region 3 final. With Pearland winning the state title, it boosts the stock of Katy back into the Top 25 nationally.
25	Harrison	Farmington Hills	MI	13-0	26
	Michigan Division 2 State Champion: Harrison was a latecomer onto the scene but made a solid run through the playoffs, downing Lowell in the state final, 38-28. And to settle any debate, it has a win over the Division I state winner, Lake Orion, on its resume as well.
26	Folsom	Folsom	CA	14-1	47
	California Division II Bowl Champion: Folsom was able to avenge its early season loss to Grant and then beat Serra in the Bowl game.
27	Bishop Gorman	Las Vegas	NV	13-2	36
	Nevada Class 4A State Champion: The Gaels had a very solid season led by underclassmen. The state title was expected and it delivered.
28	Palo Alto	Palo Alto	CA	15-0	NR
	California Division I Champion: Paly helped steal a ton of respect for NorCal by defeating Corona Centennial in the mud. The team had several quality wins in the regular season and playoffs but downing the Huskies was the signature win it needed.
29	Cocoa	Cocoa	FL	14-0	38
	Florida Class 2A State Champion: Playing without its marquee player, Chevelle Buie, for the last two weeks of the season, Cocoa proved more than it did when playing with him. Consecutive wins at Madison County and against Glades Central legitimized this program.
30	Centennial	Corona	CA	14-1	13
	The Huskies fell in the Division I Bowl game in a monsoon. The offense was never able to get in sync and it cost the team a chance to argue for the best team in California.
31	Servite	Anaheim	CA	14-1	9
	After a grinding run to a Pac-5 title, the Friars came up against one of the best teams nationally in its Open Division loss to De La Salle.
32	Manatee	Bradenton	FL	13-1	43
	The Hurricane season ended with a disappointing loss in its Class 5A semifinal to St. Thomas Aquinas. Injuries derailed what could have been, but the season was still very good for a team that entered with a lot of question marks.
33	Ursuline	Youngstown	OH	15-0	29
	Ohio Division V State Champion: Led by Ohio Mr. Football Akise Teague, Ursuline won its third-straight state title.
34	Stony Point	Round Rock	TX	14-1	31
	The Tigers season ended in the Texas Class 5A Division I semifinals with a loss to Trinity. Its playoff run was impressive but fell just short.
35	Franklinton	Franklinton	LA	14-1	42
	Louisiana Class 4A State Champion: The Demons needed overtime to down Edna Karr in the state final but it got the job done. The team ends the year No. 3 in Louisiana and inside the Top 50 nationally.
36	Goose Creek	Goose Creek	SC	13-1	27
	A very good season ended in defeat to Northwestern. Goose Creek finishes the year as the No. 2 team in a good South Carolina state ranking.
37	Wayne	Huber Heights	OH	11-4	30
	Braxton Miller was the season for Wayne, but the defense steadily improved as the season went on and it nearly won an Ohio Division I state title.
38	Mission Viejo	Mission Viejo	CA	13-1	25
	A season of promise fell short in the Pac-5 final against Servite. The Diablos had a very solid season and were rewarded with a Top 50 ranking.
39	Chaparral	Scottsdale	AZ	14-0	32
	Arizona Class 5A Division II State Champion: The Firebirds ended the year with a state title and some argument to the No. 1 spot in Arizona. With the young talent on the team, it will likely ascend to that spot to begin next season.
40	Byrnes	Duncan	SC	12-3	39
	South Carolina Class 4A Division I State Champion: Byrnes took quite a while to get healthy and get rolling. Once both of those pieces fell into place, the Rebels rolled to another state title.
41	Dorman	Roebuck	SC	14-1	40
	The Cavaliers showed a lot of grit this season, playing through injuries and adversity. It lost in the state final to its biggest rival, Byrnes.
42	Myrtle Beach	Myrtle Beach	SC	14-1	41
	South Carolina Class 3A State Champion: Everett Golson was the name of the game for this team. The team’s only loss was to Byrnes and it was able to get a win over Upstate power South Pointe in the final to steal respect for the South state teams.
43	Brookwood	Snellville	GA	14-1	63
	Georgia Class AAAAA State Champion: The Peach State was not as top heavy as it has been in recent years. More very good teams stood out than usual and Brookwood proved to be the best of a good bunch.
44	Hillside	Durham	NC	16-0	50
	North Carolina Class 4A State Champion: Vad Lee and the Hornets proved to be among the best teams in the nation. It was a banner year for North Carolina football.
45	Oaks Christian	Westlake Village	CA	12-2	51
	Oaks Christian moved up its league to improve the schedule that had been the knock against it for several years. Winning its section title proved it to be a legit program and not just a beater of inferior teams.
46	Steele	Cibolo	TX	14-2	80
	Texas Class 5A Division II State Champion: Malcolm Brown led the Knights to a state title. The team began the year No. 30 in the nation and fought back from a 1-2 start to win the championship.
47	Guyer	Denton	TX	13-3	33
	Guyer played one of the more difficult schedules in Texas and made it to the Class 5A Division II final before losing to Malcolm Brown and Cibolo Steele.
48	Bentonville	Bentonville	AR	13-0	44
	Arkansas Class 7A State Champion: The biggest class winner in Arkansas was not the clear-cut leader of the pack all season. As it marched through the playoffs, it became clear it was the best in state.
49	East Grand Rapids	Grand Rapids	MI	14-0	46
	Michigan Division 3 State Champion: East Grand Rapids finished its season with a hard-fought victory over Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, 35-27.
50	Lake Travis	Austin	TX	13-2	74
	Texas Class 4A Division I State Champion: Injuries cost the team a game early but ultimately made it better as young players stepped up. Lake Travis is a four-peat winner in Texas.
51	Grant	Sacramento	CA	13-1	60
	Injuries derailed a potential CIF Bowl game with a loss to Folsom in the section final.
52	Bishop Alemany	Mission Hills	CA	12-1	56
	Alemany had a solid season, downing Oaks Christian to start the year, and was just one game away from the Pac 5 final, losing to Servite.
53	Glenville Academic Campus	Cleveland	OH	11-1	53
	The season started with promise and controversy with wins over Warren Central and Dwyer. However, the Tarblooders could not get out of the region, losing in round two to St. Edward.
54	Northwestern	Miami	FL	9-3	68
	A season of intrigue saw the team fire-then-rehire its coach, fall to Miami Central twice, lose and then avenge its loss to Miami Columbus. Whew.
55	St. Thomas More	Lafayette	LA	13-1	58
	Louisiana Class 5A was a fight to the end. St. Thomas More had a quality season with a few good wins. In the end, it ran into a buzzsaw in Acadiana.
56	Columbus	Miami	FL	11-1	83
	The Explorers were too deep of a team to leave out of the national rankings despite a first round playoff exit.
57	Greenwood	Greenwood	SC	13-2	48
	The team’s two losses were to Class 4A Division I runner-up Dorman, and in the state final to Northwestern.
58	Westlake	Westlake Village	CA	12-2	52
	Westlake had dreams of a CIF Bowl bid this season. Close losses to St. Bonaventure and Oaks Christian robbed it of those chances, but it made for a solid season nonetheless.
59	Bergen Catholic	Oradell	NJ	10-2	57
	Bergen Catholic steadily improved as the season went on under first-year head coach Nunzio Campanile. The future is bright for the squad, whose only two losses were to Don Bosco.
60	Hilliard Davidson	Hilliard	OH	13-1	54
	The defending Ohio Division I champ lost in the state semifinals to Wayne.
61	Central	Pickerington	OH	11-1	55
	Central made noise early in the year with a win over Virginia power Oscar Smith. The season came to an end with a loss in the regional finals to Hilliard Davidson.
62	Junipero Serra	Gardena	CA	14-1	28
	A trip to the California Division II Bowl ended up as a disappointment as the Saints fell to Folsom – which was one of the best offensive teams nationally.
63	Lincoln	Tallahassee	FL	11-4	NR
	Florida Class 4A State Champion: Lincoln rolled up early season losses while it battled injuries. Once it got healthy, it took names, including Armwood, which it defeated to win the state title.
64	Armwood	Seffner	FL	14-1	11
	The Hawks fell just short in the state final against Lincoln. The team may have lacked the focus it needed once it got past Dwyer to finish the season.
65	Dwyer	West Palm Beach	FL	12-2	17
	Dwyer had a fantastic season that ended just short as it lost in its Class 4A semifinal on a last second field goal. The ultimate goal was not accomplished, but showing that this team was resiliant enough to move past an early season officiating blunder speaks volumes.
66	Allen	Allen	TX	10-2	59
	Even in a rebuilding season, Allen gave Euless Trinity all it wanted in a second round game before falling. 2011 could be a special season with plenty of returning players that gained valuable experience.
67	Trinity	Louisville	KY	15-1	61
	Kentucky Class 6A State Champion: A young Trinity team figures to be in the mix for the next two state titles and higher national rankings as its sophomore class develops.
68	Aledo	Aledo	TX	16-0	NR
	Texas Class 4A Division II State Champion: Jonathan Gray is too good of a player to have his undefeated team not in the national rankings.
69	Union	Tulsa	OK	13-1	77
	Oklahoma Class 6A State Champion: Union battled injuries all season but fought back to win the state title – its third straight.
70	Evangel Christian	Shreveport	LA	12-2	78
	Louisiana Class 2A State Champion: The tide is turning in small-class Louisiana. For the second straight year, Evangel has downed John Curtis to take home the state title.
71	St. Augustine	St Augustine	FL	14-1	NR
	St. Augustine nearly knocked off Jefferson in the playoffs, losing by one-point. The week before, it showed it was for real, beating Pensacola and its defense.
72	Sandy Creek	Tyrone	GA	15-0	79
	Georgia Class AAA State Champion: Sandy Creek is a back-to-back state champion – the first time in state history that a teammoved down and won two different classes in consecutive years. Class AAA was the best in state this year and Sandy Creek came out on top.
73	North Allegheny	Wexford	PA	15-1	72
	Pennsylvania Quad A State Champion: Winning the WPIAL and a PIAA state title in the same season while fighting injuries to its offense proved that defense wins titles.
74	Rockhurst	Kansas City	MO	14-0	64
	Missouri Class 6 State Champion: Rockhurst defeated then-No. 100 Hazelwood Central on a second-half field goal, 10-7.
75	St. Bonaventure	Ventura	CA	11-2	73
	St. Bonaventure enjoyed a successful season that saw it tie for its regular season league title with Westlake and Oaks Christian.
76	Wayzata	Plymouth	MN	11-0	65
	Minnesota Class 5A State Champion: Wayzata defeated Rosemount, 31-14, to earn the title.
77	North Augusta	North Augusta	SC	12-2	66
	A successful season ended with only losses to Class 4A Division II finalists, Northwestern and Greenwood.
78	Centennial	Peoria	AZ	12-2	70
	The Coyotes fell in the state final to Chaparral. A solid season keeps the team as the No. 3 team in the state.
79	Alcoa	Alcoa	TN	15-0	71
	Tennessee Class 3A State Champion: Gary Rankin’s team ran through the competition this season. With three players eclipsing the 1,000 yard mark, it was tough to slow the Tornadoes down.
80	West Point	West Point	MS	15-1	76
	Mississippi Class 5A State Champion: West Point ran the ball all the way to a title.
81	Davidson	Mobile	AL	13-2	69
	Davidson proved Alabama to have more quality depth. It made a run through the playoffs before falling to eventual state champion, Daphne. A very good team to come out of the Mobile area.
82	South Pointe	Rock Hill	SC	13-2	67
	The top college prospect in the country, Jadaveon Clowney, nearly carried the Stallions to a state title. The team’s only losses were to Myrtle Beach in the final, and to Class 4A Division II winner Northwestern to start the year.
83	Good Counsel	Olney	MD	10-2	75
	What could have been a special season ended with a decisive win to earn the WCAC title and a marginal national ranking.
84	Fishers	Fishers	IN	14-1	85
	Indiana Class 5A State Champion: Fishers downed Lawrence Central, 38-19, to earn its first state title.
85	Battlefield	Haymarket	VA	13-2	86
	Virginia Division VI State Champion: The No. 2 team in Virginia downed Lake Braddock and Hermitage in the last two weeks to claim a state title.
86	Glades Central	Belle Glade	FL	12-2	90
	A blocked extra point prevented overtime in the Raiders one-point loss to Cocoa in the Class 2A state final.
87	North Shore	Houston	TX	12-2	81
	North Shore had two losses, both to Katy, and had a solid season.
88	Dowling	W Des Moines	IA	14-0	87
	Iowa Class 4A State Champion: Dowling went back-and-forth as the top team in Iowa all season before ultimately winning its state title in overtime.
89	Ferris	Spokane	WA	14-0	NR
	Washington Class 4A State Champion: Ferris was able to beat four of the Top 10 teams in Washington, including perennial power Skyline, to win states.
90	Wichita Heights	Wichita	KS	13-0	89
	Kansas Class 6A State Champion: Wichita Heights won in convincing fashion – 48-14 over Olathe North – for the state title.
91	Central Catholic	Allentown	PA	16-0	NR
	Pennsylvania Class AAA State Champion: Junior quarterback Brandon Nosovitch was one of the best players in his class this season and it showed as he led the Vikings to a state title.
92	St. Louis	Honolulu	HI	11-1	91
	Hawaii Division I State Champion: Fast as always, St. Louis is the major beneficiary of Kahuku’s forfeiture of its season.
93	Jenks	Jenks	OK	13-1	92
	A nearly perfect season ended with defeat in the Class 6A final. This is the first class in 15 years not to leave Jenks with a state title.
94	Peach County	Fort Valley	GA	13-1	93
	Peach County was believed to be the best in the state of Georgia at one point. It was unable to dethrone Sandy Creek in the semifinals but remained one of the best teams nationally.
95	West Rowan	Mount Ulla	NC	15-0	94
	North Carolina Class 3A State Champion: West Rowan continued the nation’s longest win streak (46 games) in winning a state title.
96	Shiloh Christian	Springdale	AR	14-1	NR
	Arkansas Class 4A State Champion: Shell shocking loss to Trinity aside, it is hard to aruge that Shiloh did not end the season among one of the best 100 teams in America.
97	Maine South	Park Ridge	IL	12-2	95
	Illinois Class 8A State Champion Class 8A in Illinois was not all it is usually cracked up to be. After a slow start to the season, Maine South settled in and took home another title.
98	Madison Central	Madison	MS	12-2	96
	The No. 4 team in Mississippi ends the year in the rankings. The state was better overall than most seasons and this ranking shows that.
99	Buford	Buford	GA	14-1	NR
	Georgia Class AA State Champion: Wins over Gainesville, Cook, and Calhoun combined with Class AA being the third best in the state pushes its champion into the final rankings.
100	Everett	Everett	MA	12-0	98
	Massachussetts Division I Super Bowl Champion: Everett went through all of the top teams in its state to prove it was the best.

	National Champions. New Jersey Non-Public Group 4 State Champions. The Ironmen downed CIF Open Bowl winner Concord (CA) De La Salle, Alabama 6A finalist Prattville, and the best four teams in the state. The most impressive resume of any in the top ten.
2	Lake Travis	Austin	TX	16-0	2
	Texas Class 4A Division I State Champions. The Cavaliers take home the top spot in Texas for 2009. The Cavaliers defeated Longview for the title and boasts a resume with wins over three 5A opponenets that were playoff teams in the regular season – including 5A Division I finalist Austin Westlake.
3	West Monroe	West Monroe	LA	15-0	3
	Louisiana Class 5A State Champions. West Monroe was by far the best team in Louisiana. The Rebels will be in the discussion for preseason No. 1 in 2010. Aside from winning 5A, West Monroe also beat Class 4A state title winner Neville.
4	Memphis University School	Memphis	TN	13-0	4
	Tennessee Division II Class AA State Champions. The Owls beat two other state title winners this season – Mississippi 6A winner South Panola and Tennessee 6A winner White Station to earn a Top Five finish.
5	Abilene	Abilene	TX	15-0	6
	Texas 5A Division II State Champions. The Eagles won their first state title in 53 years. Going through Cedar Hill, Arlington Bowie, and powerhouse Katy earns this Abilene team a top five finish.
6	Servite	Anaheim	CA	15-1	13
	California CIF Division II Champions. The Friars avenged their only loss to Edison to win the Pac-5. They then beat Rockline in the CIF Bowl. The season also saw wins over Long Beach Poly, Crespi, Mater Dei, and Mission Viejo – one of the best resumes nationally.
7	Dwyer	West Palm Beach	FL	14-1	17
	Florida Class 4A State Champions. A trio of Florida commits, led by Matt Elam, lead Dwyer to wins over Pahokee, Delray Beach Atlantic, Armwood and Niceville and won a state title.
8	Highlands	Fort Thomas	KY	15-0	5
	Kentucky Class 5A State Champions. Ft. Thomas downed every team on their schedule in convincing fashion. The victory over St. Xavier from Ohio was an indication that this team could compete with the big boys.
9	Detroit Catholic Central	Novi	MI	14-0	7
	Michigan Division I State Champions. Catholic Central may have an arguement for a higher ranking beating Hudsonville, St. Mary’s Prep (twice), Warren De La Salle, and Sterling Heights Stevenson to win the state title.
10	Hilliard Davidson	Hilliard	OH	13-1	8
	Ohio Division I State Champions. Davidson defeated Coffman, Elder, and Glennville to win states.
11	South Panola	Batesville	MS	14-1	9
	Mississippi 6A State Champions. Another streak could be starting at South Panola. This was a very young team that only got better as the season came to a close.
12	Butler	Matthews	NC	15-0	14
	North Carolina Division 4A State Champions. Butler dominated Independence and Jack Britt to win the state title.
13	Hoover	Hoover	AL	14-1	15
	Alabama 6A State Champions. Hoover greatly benefits with its win over Prattville in the state finals and over Georiga 5A winner Camden County.
14	Camden County	Kingsland	GA	13-2	16
	Georgia AAAAA State Champions. Camden made an amazing run through the playoffs knocking off Lowndes, North Gwinnett, Colquitt County and Northside Warner Robins.
15	Trinity	Euless	TX	15-2	21
	Texas Class 5A Division I State Champions. The Trojans did not look they would make this run after starting the season 2-2. This was very much a season of destiny as the Trojans won the title in overtime over Austin Westlake. Also, Trinity owns a win over Utah 5A champs, Bingham.
16	Hamilton	Chandler	AZ	14-0	30
	Arizona 5A Division I State Champions. Aside from a 24-21 win against Brophy in a National Game of the Week, Hamilton was not challenged this season.
17	Plant	Tampa	FL	13-1	23
	Florida Class 5A State Champions. Plant was led by RB James Wilder to a second straight state title. Last season it was in 4A, this year the Panthers conquered 5A.
18	Hutchinson	Hutchinson	KS	13-0	19
	Kansas Division 5A State Champions. Mighty Hutch was not challenged in 2009 – dominating everyone put in front of them.
19	Phoebus	Hampton	VA	15-0	10
	Virginia Division AAA State Champions. The Phantoms were not expected to be this good coming into the season and proved everyone wrong being one of the best in the region and country.
20	Cardinal Mooney	Youngstown	OH	15-0	27
	Ohio Division III State Champions. Mooney fans could argue this was the best team in state. A 45-7 win over Steubenville in the state semi finals was an exclamation point to their dominance this season.
21	Mullen	Denver	CO	14-0	25
	Colorado Class 5A State Champions. A very good season for Mullen with wins over Cherry Creek, Pomona and Rockhurst (MO). Mullen allowed fewer than six points per game.
22	Edison	Huntington Beach	CA	13-1	34
	Edison came out of nowhere to make a run to the Pac-5 finals. A great 2009 season despite the season ending 16-6 loss to Servite. Wins over Servite, Mater Dei, Los Alamitos and Lakewood are an impressive collection.
23	Katy	Katy	TX	14-2	11
	The Tigers made it to the Texas 5A Division II finals for the third consecutive year but lost to Abilene. The Tigers also boasted a win over Washington state title winner, Bellevue.
24	Neville	Monroe	LA	13-1	22
	Louisiana Class 4A State Champions. For much of the year there was a belief the best in 4A would be the best in the state – except Neville lost to West Monroe earlier in the season.
25	Union	Tulsa	OK	13-1	26
	Oklahoma Class 6A State Champions. Union ended the season right where they started, No. 1 in Oklahoma. A convincing win over Jenks in the finals was a big boost.
26	Manatee	Bradenton	FL	13-2	20
	Manatee came very close to capping an amazing season but fell in the Florida 5A state finals to Plant. A win over St. Thomas Aquinas stole national headlines in the state semi finals.
27	St. Thomas Aquinas	Ft Lauderdale	FL	13-1	24
	Despite a very good year for Aquinas two disappointing games to end the season drop them from invincible to vulnerable, scrambling to beat Ely and then losing to Manatee in the state semi final round.
28	Northside School	Warner Robins	GA	13-2	28
	Northside made it to the Georgia state finals but ran into a buzzsaw in Camden County.
29	Dorman	Roebuck	SC	14-1	31
	South Carolina Class 4 Division I State Champions. The final ranking for Dorman was hurt a bit with Aquinas (FL) losing. The big win for Dorman was the revenge game over Byrnes in the state finals.
30	Bingham	South Jordan	UT	13-1	38
	Utah 5A State Champions. Bingham looked great in state and only suffered a loss to Texas 5A Division I champion Euless Trinity.
31	Maine South	Park Ridge	IL	14-0	33
	Illinois 8A State Champions. Maine South established themselves as the team to beat in Illinois very early in the season and no one could come close.
32	Good Counsel	Olney	MD	11-1	39
	Won Washington Catholic League. Not being eligible for playoffs hurts the ranking of Good Counsel. It ended the season avenging the loss to DeMatha.
33	Miramar	Miramar	FL	13-1	58
	Florida Class 6A State Champions. Miramar knocked off Miami Central and DeLand to win the 6A title. The only set back was to St. Thomas Aquinas.
34	Linganore	Frederick	MD	14-0	29
	Maryland 3A State Champions. Linganore earned the No. 1 spot in Maryland this season. The best win was over Gaithersburg Quince Orchard in the playoffs.
35	Lowndes	Valdosta	GA	10-2	69
	Lowndes only two losses of the year were to both Georgia AAAAA finalists, Northside Warner Robins and Camden County. Both were 10-7 setbacks.
36	Byrnes	Duncan	SC	13-2	35
	Byrnes lost to Aquinas (FL) and Dorman to end the season.
37	East Grand Rapids	Grand Rapids	MI	14-0	41
	Michigan Division 3 State Champions. The Pioneers beat Lowell and Orchard Lake St. Mary en route to an undefeated season.
38	Longview	Longview	TX	15-2	32
	Longview lost in the Texas 4A state finals to Lake Travis. The Lobos had a big win over 2008 5A title winner, Allen. They also beat Denton Guyer and Waxahachie in the 4A playoffs.
39	De La Salle	Concord	CA	13-2	46
	California CIF Open Division Champions. De La Salle making a run to a state title boosted the resume for Don Bosco. The Spartans beat Crenshaw to win the title.
40	Glenville Academic Campus	Cleveland	OH	13-2	36
	Lost Ohio Division I state finals by one point to Davidson. The Tarblooders were the first Cleveland public school to play for the Division I state title.
41	Madison Central	Madison	MS	13-1	53
	Madison lost in the state semis to South Panola after ranking as high as No. 8 nationally.
42	Crenshaw	Los Angeles	CA	14-1	18
	A fantastic season from the L.A. City Section school. The Cougars owned the city as well as beat a very good Lakewood team en route to a CIF Open Bowl game.
43	Shiloh Christian	Springdale	AR	14-1	44
	Arkansas Class 4A State Chmpions. Shiloh beat two other state champs this season – Evangel Christian (LA) and Lincoln Christian (OK). The only loss was to Greenwood without their best defensive players.
44	Evangel Christian	Shreveport	LA	14-1	45
	Louisiana 2A State Champions. Evangel’s lone loss was to Shiloh Christian (AR) where they had the ball on the five as time expired on them.
45	Chaparral	Scottsdale	AZ	13-1	52
	Arizona Class 5A Division II State Champion. Chaparral would have ranked higher than this had it gone through Centennial or one of the other powers in Arizona.
46	Bishop Gorman	Las Vegas	NV	15-0	68
	Nevada Division 4A State Champions. The Gaels are the highest scoring team in the country piling up 798 points.
47	Newnan	Newnan	GA	13-1	42
	Newnan beat preseason favorite Grayson but was edged by runner-up Northside Warner Robins in the semis of Georgia AAAAA.
48	La Salle	Wyndmoor	PA	14-1	NR
	Pennsylvania Quad A State Champions. La Salle entered the playoffs as the No. 6 team in state but proved to be the best team in the state.
49	Oceanside	Oceanside	CA	14-0	65
	California Division I State Champions. Oceanside rallied to win its CIF Bowl against Bellarmine Prep. Oceanside also beat Long Beach Poly and Helix in 2009.
50	DeMatha	Hyattsville	MD	11-1	51
	DeMatha got as high as No. 9 nationally but lost a close game to Good Counsel after narrowly defeating them earlier in the season.
51	Cedar Hill	Cedar Hill	TX	11-1	55
	Lost to eventual Texas 5A Division II champion Abilene in the playoffs after flirting with disaster on defense multiple times.
52	St. Ignatius	Cleveland	OH	11-1	49
	Iggy lost to Glennville in the regions after beating them earlier in the season.
53	Junipero Serra	Gardena	CA	15-0	40
	California Division III Champions. Serra knocked off Oaks Christian to get to the CIF Bowl where the Cavaliers defeated Marin Catholic.
54	Oaks Christian	Westlake Village	CA	13-1	47
	Oaks season was highlighted by a win over Washington power Skyline. The goal of a CIF Bowl berth was taken on the last week to J Serra.
55	Skyline	Sammamish	WA	12-2	48
	Washington 4A State Champions. Skyline avenged its only in-state loss to Bothel, but Oaks Christian (CA) not making a CIF Bowl game hurts their final strength of schedule. The nation’s No. 1 ranked QB, Jake Heaps, goes out a three-time state winner.
56	Niceville	Niceville	FL	13-1	12
	Niceville made it to Florida state 4A finals but lost to Dwyer. Roy Finch and Kody Williams took the Eagles to new heights.
57	Cocoa	Cocoa	FL	14-0	57
	Florida Class 2A State Champions. Cocoa beat Bolles, Godby and Glades Central this season.
58	Marquette University	Milwaukee	WI	14-0	56
	Wisconsin Division I State Champions. Defense was the staple for Marquette this season.
59	John Curtis	River Ridge	LA	13-1	59
	Curtis flirted with disaster a few times this season but played well down the stretch only to fall to Evangel Christian in the title game.
60	Iowa City	Iowa City	IA	14-0	61
	Iowa 4A State Champions. AJ Derby and the Little Hawks cruised to the state title.
61	Alcoa	Alcoa	TN	15-0	62
	Tennessee 3A State Champions. The best team from East Tennessee was a bully on the field.
62	Lowell	Lowell	MI	13-1	63
	Michigan Division 2 State Champions. The only loss was to East Grand Rapids. The best win was in the state finals against a very good Inkster team.
63	Sheldon	Eugene	OR	14-0	66
	Oregon 6A State Champions. Sheldon had to win a shootout with the state’s No. 2 team – Jesuit – to win the title.
64	Thomas Dale	Chester	VA	12-2	67
	Virginia AAA State Champions. Thomas Dale made a very surprising run to a state title in Virginia beating nationally ranked Oscar Smith along the way.
65	Grayson	Loganville	GA	12-1	54
	Grayson made it to as high as No. 5 nationally before falling to Newnan in the playoffs. The signature win was in the opening week of the season against eventual state champion Camden County.
66	Rocklin	Rocklin	CA	14-1	70
	The Thunder knocked off Sacramento Grant on their way to the CIF Bowl against Servite – which they nearly won.
67	Deland	Deland	FL	13-2	43
	DeLand was the talk of the Florida playoffs. Being just two years removed from an 0-10 season what DeLand was able to accomplish in 6A was fun to watch.
68	Westlake	Austin	TX	13-3	50
	Westlake made it to the Texas 5A Division I state finals. Two of the teams three losses were to state winners, 4A Lake Travis and Euless Trinity in the title game.
69	Stony Point	Round Rock	TX	13-2	60
	Stony Point was one game away from playing for a state title in Texas but fell to 5A Division I champ, Euless Trinity.
70	Jenks	Jenks	OK	13-1	64
	Jenks got crushed by Union in the state finals of Oklahoma 6A. It was an up-and-down season that saw them lose their coach as well.
71	North Gwinnett	Suwanee	GA	12-1	72
	Wins against Prattville and Peachtree Ridge were great. This was a year early for North Gwinnett who could be a force in 2010.
72	Glades Central	Belle Glade	FL	13-1	71
	Glades had an opporuntity to finish as the No. 1 team in Florida but could not close the deal, losing in the state finals to Cocoa.
73	Cretin-Derham Hall	Saint Paul	MN	12-1	73
	Minnesota 5A State Champions. The best prospect in the country – Seantrel Henderson – led C.D. Hall to the title.
74	Mission Viejo	Mission Viejo	CA	12-1	74
	Probably the best Viejo team since Mark Sanchez left. A win over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame may have been the best win however the Diablos nearly knocked off Servite (19-18) in the playoffs which could have sparked a top ten finish.
75	Lakeland	Lakeland	FL	13-1	75
	Lakeland season was highlighted with a win over De La Salle (CA) but ended with a shutout loss to state champion, Plant.
76	Wheaton South	Wheaton	IL	13-1	76
	Illinois 7A State Champions. A lot of teams rotated in as the No. 2 team in Illinois before the Tigers settled in late in the year.
77	F.J. Reitz	Evansville	IN	15-0	77
	Indiana 4A State Champions. Reitz crushed Indianapolis Cathedral and played very good defense all season.
78	Har-Ber	Springdale	AR	12-1	78
	Arkansas 7A State Champions. Har-Ber has a solid arguement for No. 1 in Arkansas playing in the state’s toughest classification.
79	Elder	Cincinnati	OH	10-3	79
	Elder made it as high as No. 2 during the regular season. The Panthers almost made another run to an Ohio state title but fell to eventual winner Davidson in the semis.
80	Canyon Del Oro	Oro Valley	AZ	14-0	80
	Arizona Class 4A Division I State Champions. Canyone del Oro ran all over their competition in 2009.
81	Xaverian Brothers	Westwood	MA	13-0	81
	Massachussets Division I Super Bowl Winner. Xaverian played one of the toughest schedules in the Northeast.
82	Lakewood	Lakewood	CA	11-2	82
	The two losses were to CIF Bowl loser Crenshaw and Pac-5 finalist Edison.
83	Adlai Stevenson	Sterling Heights	MI	13-1	83
	Stevenson lost in the state finals to Catholic Central to end an otherwise spectacular season.
84	Lutcher	Lutcher	LA	13-1	84
	A rain soaked field and a darn good Neville team ended the season for Lutcher who got as high as No. 16 nationally.

	A great season for a relatively unknown nationally squad.

	The two losses for Cinco Ranch were to both Texas finalists. Division II runner-up Katy and Division I runner-up Westlake.
87	Stone Bridge	Ashburn	VA	13-2	88
	Stone Bridge made it to the Virginia state finals before falling to Phoebus 15-10.
88	Oscar Smith	Chesapeake	VA	13-1	89
	Smith was in the top fifteen much of the season despite a couple of close games. A win over Venice (FL) was the high point. Losing to Dale in the state semis was a tough way to end a career for Phillip Sims.
89	Cypress Woods	Cypress	TX	11-3	90
	The season was made for Cy Woods by upending Dallas Skyline in the playoffs otherwise this national rankings was not in the cards.
90	Skyline	Dallas	TX	12-1	91
	Skyline was as high as No. 3 nationally when the Raiders lost a stunner to Cy Woods.
91	St. Xavier	Cincinnati	OH	9-3	92
	St. Xavier played one of the most demanding schedules in the nation in 20009.
92	St. Xavier	Louisville	KY	14-1	93
	Kentucky 6A State Champions. The only loss was to St. X (OH) in the middle of the season.
93	Millard South	Omaha	NE	13-0	94
	Nebraska Class A State Champions. South scored over 40-points in 10 games this season.
94	Grant	Sacramento	CA	12-1	95
	A tough loss to Rocklin ended the season. A win over Bellevue (WA) is still the best win of the year.
95	Bellevue	Bellevue	WA	12-2	96
	Washington 3A State Champions. Bellevue lost to Texas Division II runner-up Katy (TX) and Grant (CA) – neither of which are bad losses.
96	Prattville	Prattville	AL	13-3	97
	Prattville lost to Hoover in the Alabama 6A state finals. The Lions also fell to No. 1 Don Bosco.
97	Bolles	Jacksonville	FL	12-1	98
	Florida 2B State Champions. Bolles lone loss was to fellow state title winner Cocoa.
98	Hazelwood Central	Florissant	MO	13-1	99
	Missori Division 6 State Champions. Central beat traditional power Blue Springs to earn the state title and No. 1 spot in Missouri.
99	Peach County	Fort Valley	GA	15-0	NR
	Georgia AAA State Champions. One of the best Peach Country teams in recent memory, and only Georgia undefeated state title winner, makes it good enough for a national ranking to end the season.
100	Kamehameha School	Honolulu	HI	15-1	NR
	Hawaii Division I State Champions. Kamehameha won the state title in Hawaii by beating St. Louis, Punahou, Leiluhua, and Kahuku.
